  • JOB PURPOSE: Specialist Climate Economics will be responsible for economic research of climate change as well as the economic analysis the activities of Climate Resilience Early Warning System (CREWSnet) project, CREWSnet will extend proven forecasting and simulation methods to predict climate impacts at village- and community-scales in western Bangladesh.
  • SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible to collect and analyses socio-economic data as per the project requirements.
  • Develop questionnaires, survey tools, and trained programme participant as per project requirements.
  • Ensure environmental impact assessment and climate risk analysis
  • Support in running climate/environmental modelling.
  • Literature review on the environment and climatic data and keep the research and implementation team aware of the updated information.
  • Communicate the environmental and climatic information with the community in an easy language.
  • Provide support to activity planning on environmental governance.
  • Active participation in local-level planning and execution.
  • Documentation, Article writing and communique development.
  • Prepare monthly, periodic, need-based reports.

Educational Requirements

  • Masters in Economics from any recognised institute.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 year(s)

  • Computer Literacy (MS-Word, Excel, powerpoint etc.).
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills both in Bangla and English.
  • Proposal and Report writing.
  • Supervision of field operations.
