  • JOB PURPOSE: The overall purpose of this position is to contribute to the strategic direction of climate finance and resilience building initiatives that fit into the Climate Change Program. Tracking progress on resilience initiatives and program results as well as the development of climate finance initiatives and LLA-related innovative ideas and share within organization. Track and document CCA related approaches/models from the global and national context. Contribute to partnership building with international organization and support “Mainstreaming Climate Change at BRAC and BRAC International”.
  • SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Job Responsibilities

  • Integrate LLA principals into BRAC to establish BRAC as a major locally led adaptation actor on a national and international scale.
  • In collaboration with CCP and other relevant BRAC Programmes, provide clarity on climate finance instrument-related international and national issues in terms of analysis, replicability, and defining criteria in relation to organizational climate outcome and output indicators.
  • Represent BRAC in national and international forum and showcasing BRAC’s climate-related best practices in seminar, workshop, conference and print and electronic media.
  • Partnership management and negotiations as required for programme.
  • Participate and contribute to the strategic planning and design of climate resilience building initiatives.
  • Contribute to the creation of a locally led adaptation platform in Bangladesh where Bangladeshi civil society organizations can share best practices and raise collective voices.
  • Design and organize workshops for youth on innovative climate finance initiatives in rural and urban settings.
  • Prepare, compile news content for newsletters circulated through the BRAC system.
  • Assist in the updating and development of strategies and policies to optimize BRAC adaptation and mitigation actions.
  • Provide inputs/ contribute to the development of funding proposals and prepare periodic reporting on Adaptation and Mitigation work (AdMit).

Educational Requirements

  • Masters in Economics, International Relation, Environmental Science/Management, Climate Change, Geography, Sociology or any other relevant discipline from any recognised institute.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 year(s)

  • Excellent verbal and writing skill in English
  • Planning and organising events.
  • Up to date knowledge on Climate Change issues.
  • Capability to strategies, coordinate and lead to accomplishment.
