  • JOB PURPOSE: Designing interventions and strategies on Climate Adaptive Agriculture, bringing innovations through introducing agri- machineries and improved stage facilities into the farming communities and implementation of CAA related activities in collaboration with different BRAC programmes and other stakeholders.
  • SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate efforts of designing climate adaptive solutions, resource mobilisation initiatives through identifying potential partners, government agencies, INGOs, corporations, etc.
  • Bring innovations into the farming communities through introducing agri-machineries, improved stage facilities and market linkages.
  • Guide agricultural mechanization for smallholder farmers and bringing climate-smart innovations in the farmers field.
  • Lead preparation of the concept notes, yearly operation plan, work plan, budget, policy and strategic documents on a need basis.
  • Establish net zero energy-based agri-storage at community and household levels considering the local demand and contextual analysis.
  • Provide with renewable energy-based food processing facilities to the targeted farmers.
  • Establish solar irrigation pumps at the community level to deliver high irrigation efficiency by supplying proper amount of water to every area of the field to gain speed in cultivation.
  • Provide with agri-machineries support (harvester, weeder, sprayer, thresher, power tiller etc.) for improving agricultural production so that farmers can grow more crops in a short time and with greater efficiency
  • Promote Gender friendly agricultural equipment into the communities through training, demonstration and financial assistance.
  • Capacity building of targeted farmers on agri-machineries and climate-smart agricultural techniques, through training and demonstration.
  • Contribute to development and oversee the implementation of programme and projects on climate change adaptation and mitigation.
  • Communicate and liaison with different clusters, forums, donor and partners organisations to improve coordination, capacity and programme visibility.
  • Drive capacity building of team members, relevant BRAC programmes and community on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation.
  • Research and identify media stories, write and edit media releases, and feature stories within tight timeframes which consistently meet agreed BRAC standards.

Educational Requirements

  • B.Sc. (Hons.)/ MS in Agriculture Engineering or in any other relevant discipline from any recognised institute.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 7 year(s)


Additional Requirements

  • Computer Literacy (MS-Word, Excel, power point etc.).
  • Excellent speaking and writing skill both in Bangla and English.
  • Proposal and Report writing.
  • Supervision of field operations.
  • Policy Analysis, Financial Management and Budgeting.
  • Team building and Ability to work under pressure and deadline.
  • Donor Coordination.
