Job Context
-
The Architect/Senior Architect is a key role responsible for translating creative concepts into functional and aesthetically pleasing architectural designs. This position involves leading architectural projects from concept to completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring design integrity, functionality, and adherence to regulatory standards. The Architect/Senior Architect reports directly to the Director Finance and Administration.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop innovative and sustainable architectural concepts that align with project requirements and company objectives.
- Create detailed architectural drawings, blueprints, and 3D models using industry-standard software.
- Lead and manage architectural projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Refine and evolve architectural concepts through all design stages, considering functionality, aesthetics, space utilization, and user experience.
- Collaborate closely with the design team, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and successful project execution.
- Communicate design concepts and specifications effectively through presentations, meetings, and written documentation.
- Ensure architectural designs adhere to local building codes, zoning regulations, accessibility standards, and other relevant regulations.
- Secure necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.
- Research, create and recommend appropriate materials, specifications, finishes, and construction methods that align with design intent, budget, and sustainability goals.
- Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and cost estimates to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, quality of workmanship, and adherence to architectural plans.
- Explore innovative design concepts and sustainable building practices to enhance project efficiency, energy performance, and environmental impact.
- Prepare detailed architectural documentation, including design drawings, technical specifications, and project progress reports.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation compliance.
- Identify potential design and construction risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and disruptions.
- Conduct post-construction evaluations to assess the performance and functionality of completed projects, making recommendations for improvement.

- Applicant must have I.A.B. Membership
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in architectural design, with progressive responsibility and project management involvement.
- Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and 3D modeling tools.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects and technical skills.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to both clients and team members.
