Job Context
- Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer, and Sufi with the aim of social and spiritual development of entire human community. DAM has been contributing for the betterment of the disadvantaged population through operating 35 institutions and also 8 sectors of development. Health Sector is one of the core sectors of DAM which has also been operating 7 institutions and 15 donor funded projects.
- DAM Health Sector is going to recruit a competent and self-motivated individual for the position of Technical Specialist Training and Advocacy of “Prioritized HIV Prevention and Treatment Services for Key Population in Bangladesh” Project implemented by Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM), funded by Global fund and principal recipient by Save the Children.
Job Responsibilities
- Advocacy:
- Designing, planning, documenting and implementing advocacy strategy and campaigns
- Facilitate the development of joint advocacy strategies with associated networks, partners and others;
- Organize events, meetings and campaigns to ensure that the advocacy plan is active and moving forwards
- of the project experiences, learning and good practices both at the field and national level.
- Supporting to event concept notes as required
- Identify key opportunities in the short and long-term in which we can influence policy processes;
- Form networks with various stakeholders such as, Government, NGOs, private sector, development sector and donors to mobilize their support for sustainable development initiatives
- Supervise and assist field office in activities related to advocacy and lobbying with local government
- Provide capacity building and technical support on advocacy and documentation to the DIC/Outlet based staff and SSRs
- Assist the field teams in the analysis of field data for documentation, decision and action
- Find out opportunities as well as challenges in promoting social and economic empowerment at the local level and provide technical advice to field staff.
- Support to team members for any additional reporting and documentation
- Capture best practices, success stories :
- Develop different kinds of quality documentations, stories considering project progress and positive changes in people’s lives throughout the project implementation.
- Ensure the collecting, sharing and disseminating of the project experiences, learning and good practices both at the field and national level.
- Prepare need-based case study focusing on social inclusion, economic & political empowerment, safeguarding for women with disabilities
- Capacity Building:
- Conduct training needs assessment and writes TNA report.
- Prepare and coordinate training courses as per the annual training plan. Manage, arrange and implement training agenda and training event.
- Develop take home message and disseminate along with training report and conduct post training follow up
- Keep training database up to mark and provide a monthly report to the project manager.
- Facilitate training and advocacy material development
- Safeguarding:
- Report to safeguarding focal person for any allegation or concerns on the violation of the safe guarding policy in relation to project staffs, organizational staffs, vendors and volunteers is raised. Beside will play major role in relevant awareness building training/orientation with in the team mates and others as necessary as well as will cooperate and support for establishing the safe guarding mechanism with the project.
- Liaising with the Joint Director DAM & Team Leader, FSWI, DAM Consortium to strengthen PMU Office support to drop-in-centers and staff;
- Facilitating professional development of staff and promote their safety and well-being;
- Performs other assignments as suggested by the supervisor

Educational Requirements
- Master’s Degree preferably in Social Science or Public Health (MPH) or any other related subject.
Additional Requirements
- Age at most 45 years
- 5+ years of comprehensive work experience in the training field, preferably in the context of an NGO background will be preferable;
- Communication, report writing, presentation and negotiation skills;
- Proficient in English (oral and written).
- Age at most 45 years (Age may be considered for experienced candidate).
