Relief International is currently implementing a large scale refugee response program in Cox`s Bazar in Bangladesh in collaboration with multiple partners including UNHCR.

Job Context

  • Contract length: Up to December 31, 2023 (With possibility of Extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with RI and relevant stakeholders to identify eligible women and girls for WSNG membership.
  • Organize and facilitate selection seminars to identify interested and motivated women for WSNG formation.
  • Oversee the election process for WSNG leaders and secretaries, ensuring transparency and proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with WSNG members to plan and schedule activities, including awareness sessions, trainings and events.
  • Support WSNG leaders and secretaries in organizing and recording sessions for literacy and pre-vocational training.
  • Develop and implement a capacity-building plan for WSNG leaders and secretaries to enhance their skills in preventing and addressing GBV.
  • Facilitate regular training sessions on gender, human rights, GBV, ethical referral and service mapping.
  • Work with RI and UNHCR to provide leadership training to WSNG members, enabling them to participate in camp governance meetings.
  • Engage with community women and girls to raise awareness about gender equality, GBV prevention, and women’s empowerment.
  • Foster a supportive environment where WSNG members can share their experiences, concern and ideas without judgment.
  • Promote volunteerism and mentorship among WSNG members to encourage a culture of mutual support.
  • Collaborate with WSNG members to ensure safe and confidential referrals for GBV survivors to appropriate actors and counseling centers.
  • Provide guidance to WSNG members on facilitating ethical and respectful interactions with survivors.
  • The Women Inspire Women Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in organizing and facilitating the “Women Inspire Women” initiative, aimed at amplifying the voices and stories of refugee women leaders within the Rohingya community. This role involves identifying and engaging women leaders, coordinating interactive sessions, and creating a platform for refugee women to share their leadership journeys, challenges, and aspirations. The Coordinator will work closely with service providers, community leaders, and refugee women to promote gender equality, empower women, and encourage meaningful participation in community activities
  • Maintain accurate records of all WSNG activities, meetings, and sessions conducted within each group.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing the progress, challenges, and achievements of the WSNG program.
  • Collect data for baseline and endline surveys to assess the impact of the program on the community

  • Experience working with NGO in Cox’s bazar is preferable (can relax some requirements for experienced candidates)
  • Strong understanding of gender dynamics, human rights, and GBV prevention strategies.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with women and girls from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, including RI, UNHCR, camp leadership, and community members.
  • Previous experience in program coordination, capacity building, and community engagement is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in English and any relevant local languages for effective communication.
  • Familiarity with Rohingya refugee context and camp settings is an asset.
  • Demonstrate facilitation skills.
  • Able to conduct group activities or informal education.
  • Understand principle of care to women and children.
  • Good knowledge of local context, strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and support unexpected task.
  • Enthusiasm to learn.
