Job Context

  • Samaj Kalyan O Unnayan Shangstha (SKUS) envisions a peaceful, prosperous, and poverty-free society that ensures everyone`s basic needs and rights. SKUS has since the 2017 Rohingya refugee influx worked in Cox`s Bazar district with children, adolescents, women, and men. SKUS works to provide access to learning opportunities in a safe and protective environment, offer quality teaching and learning, and increase refugee/host community participation and engagement in children`s education. Based on children`s and adolescents` rights, SKUS has established quality learning and protection Centre with support from different international donors, including UN agencies.
  • SKUS has an agreement with Plan International for the project of Education Cannot Wait`s Multi Year Resilience Programme (MYRP) for the Rohingya and host community at Ukhia and Teknaf Upazila in Cox`s Bazar District.
  • SKUS is looking for a suitable candidate for the immediate appointment of a few Technical Officer for the project as mentioned above in Plan International Consortium, supported by ECW.
  • Reportable to: Project Coordinator, ECW project, PI-SKUS Consortium.
  • Duration of contract: Up to 30 November 2024. (Contingent to Donor Extension and Govt. Approval)

Job Responsibilities

  • Support and supervise the facilitator, SO, CEM and host community mentor to continue the CBLF modality facilities in both the host community and Rohingya camp.
  • Support education needs assessment as needed in intervention target areas;
  • Home visit on regular basis to supervise and monitor ECCD/MC/ and Functional literacy and numeracy and learning related activities;
  • Conduct training/refresher/workshop in a small group;
  • Track the progress of education activities and provide a regular update to the supervisor;
  • Distributed education and other materials on time;
  • Prepare event report and documentation; Participate in many kinds of meetings, sessions and workshops;
  • Regular Communication with Majhi, Sub Majhi, CiC, Parents & others Actors,
  • Provide Technical Support SBK/MC and FLN Facilitators & HCM,
  • Assist to Local materials development, Case study & success story provide to supervisor,
  • Monthly Report provide like as Center monitoring Report, Community monitoring and other educational report, & ONA report etc,
  • Assist to centre decoration & Support monthly TLC, CMC and PSG meeting as well as parenting sessions;
  • Motivation and awareness session, establish feedback mechanism system, & ensure safeguarding policy in the relevant intervention.

Educational Requirements

  • Masters degree in any discipline
  • Master of Social Science (MSS), Master of Development Studies (MDS), Master of Education(M.Ed) and/or any other relevant fields
  • Skills Required: Computer skill, Good communication and facilitation skills, Interpersonal Skills, Report writting skill in both bangla and English, Teamwork skills, Training Facilitation

Experience Requirements

Additional Requirements

  • Understanding the dynamic of child education and curriculum in Rohingya context
  • Skills: Oral and written communication skill both in Bangla and English, Rohingya and/or Chittagong local language
  • Should have good computer technical skills, especially in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in curriculum/module development and training delivery is desirable.
  • Interpersonal communication and public speaking skills
  • Abilities : Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines
  • Should be self-driven and positive to work in a team
  • Problem solving skills and dealing with the client
  • Ability to adopt to changes

  • Technical Officer will work under direct supervision of Project Coordinator
