Job Context

    Shushilan – a national NGO has been working in the field of Livelihoods, Environmental Resource Management, Health & Nutrition, Education, WASH, Human Rights & Good Governance, Disaster Management and People organization development in Bangladesh since 1991. Shushilan is implementing a project entitled “Improved Education Environment and Quality Project” with assistance from Penny Appeal, Canada. The goal of this project is to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) No 4: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” by improving infrastructure, quality education and life skills at Dumuria Upazila in south-West coastal areas of Bangladesh.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and finalize suitable Schools/Madrasa
  • Facilitate different trainings, meetings & other initiatives for life skills based education in schools/Mardasa
  • Formation of students’ forums and make functional
  • Organize and conduct life skills sessions with Students’ Forums
  • Assist Training Officer to organize and conduct ToT on Life Skill
  • Assist Project Engineer to identify suitable schools/Madrasa for renovation/repair work
  • Build and maintain relations with relevant stakeholders
  • Facilitate meeting with School Management Committee
  • Facilitate teachers-guardians coordination meetings at schools/Madrasa level.
  • Stop early marriage by influential group with the support of UP
  • Program event documented properly
  • Reports properly documented & submitted on time
  • Important information and learning shared with relevant colleagues and management
  • Collect case study and significant story
  • Documentation and develop monthly report in prescribed format;
  • All kind of positive motivation to support and response in emergency
  • In addition to that any other duties and responsibilities may assigned by the authority / organization which need to be carried out.

Educational Requirements

  • At least Bachelor Degree in any discipline

Experience Requirements

  • At least 3 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    NGO


Additional Requirements

  • Age at least 25 years
  • At least 3 years working experiences with students’ forums, life skills education, training/facilitation and development projects. Candidates will be given priority who were working as Gender Organizer/Facilitators with Gender component of Nobo Jatra project.
  • Extensive knowledge related to life skills based education and session facilitation
  • Problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Extensively field oriented, positive attitude and committed to work hard
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to communicate information effectively
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with stakeholders Friendly, approachable personality
  • Basic computer literacy on MS word and MS Excel.
  • Able to ride bicycle
  • Practicing gender, PSEA, Safeguarding, code of conduct and cultural diversity
  • Skill to operate virtual platform like Skype/Zoom/Team etc.
