Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support in selecting or developing and maintaining the project’s technology platform.
  • Develop, maintain, and update BANI’s comprehensive and integrated MIS in alignment with all program objectives and requirements from donors and management staff.
  • Collaborate closely with the MEL team, IPs, and other relevant partners to ensure consistency in data collection, compilation, archiving, analysis, and reporting of various primary and secondary data from multiple sources.
  • Work closely with management to organize efficient data collection procedures and best practices for field data gathering.
  • Coordinate with the MEL team to train staff in using the MIS system, both at the office and field levels. Provide capacity-building and coaching to field staff, including field facilitators and community health facilitators, in data management, including record keeping and data entry, while tracking their learning progress.
  • Develop technology frameworks/tools to facilitate program and impact assessments, monitor work progress, and analyze project data. Additionally, provide recommendations for improving current processes and offerings.
  • Disseminate data for analysis and reporting on the outputs and outcomes of BANI-Performance Data Table indicators and prepare quarterly and annual reports (including counts of unique, overlapping, and age-disaggregated participants, as well as data extraction and calculations for gender, youth, MCHN, PLW, adolescent girl sessions, GMP children and IGA activities).
  • Coordinate the implementation of MIS plans to collect and report required disaggregated data/information as per the requirements of donors and management staff. Analyze data to prepare different periodic program reports related to monitoring detailed action plan (DAP) and detailed implementation plan (DIP).
  • Develop MIS-related documents, plans, reports, and frameworks to ensure timely delivery of BANI’s commitments to USAID.
  • Coordinate with MEL and Program teams to establish iSTREAM program activities, event openings, staff allocation, and catchment management for data entry.
  • Perform daily data analysis and tabulation to monitor the progress of data entry tasks as instructed by the project MEL team.
  • Assist in any adaptation to the design of the BANI Project MEL system in iSTREAM by following the program tree and standard tools.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports for sessions, events, and catchment/users from iSTREAM.
  • Collaborate closely with the software development vendor (StreamTech) development team for dashboard development, reporting, and quality checks as outlined in the development/modification contract.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and debriefing of the iSTREAM design to HKI/IT and the MIS team, updating backend documents as necessary.
  • Provide on-the-job orientation/support to prepare GIS-based maps that support locating project activities.
  • Work closely with IT consultants to maintain tablets as required.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Director MEL and/or Senior Manager-MEL.

Educational Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a pertinent field including Computer Science, Information Technology etc.

  • At least 2 year(s)

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in MIS on program data Management (required)
  • SQL syntax writing & large database maintenance skill is mandatory (required)
  • Working experience in web-based data collection design (required)
  • Demonstrated experience in information technology; experience in the usage of office software programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and advanced comprehension of spreadsheets including ArcGIS. (required)
  • Extensive knowledge of data management one or more of the following areas: food security, maternal, child health & nutrition, social welfare, grants/compliance, food commodities/logistics, disaster risk management, and/or gender (desired)
  • Ability to travel to project sites within Bandarban district (required)
  • Diplomacy, strong presentation skills–oral and written (required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla language Strong written and verbal communication skills (required)
  • Previous employment with an international NGO (desired)
  • Experience working with USAID-funded program management, policies, regulations, and procedures (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection; statistical analysis; and reporting; including experience with computer-based statistical packages and databases (MS SQ Server, MS Access, SPSS/ STATA etc.) (preferred)
  • Familiarity of CHT socio-political history and multi-cultural environment (preferred)
