Job Context

  • Job Purpose:
  • The Right Here Right Now 2 (RHRN2) is a multi-country coalition project which aims to create enabling gender-just societies where young people in all their diversities enjoy their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). It is a five-year long project completing its second phase from 2021-2025.
  • The position is responsible for advocacy interventions locally, nationally and internationally by involving of young people, and with active coordination with the RHRN Consortium members so that governments adopt, implement and account for human rights-based policies and laws that enable young people`s SRHR and gender justice.

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a CSO movement on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) by organizing events e.g., meetings, workshops, dialogues, seminars, webinars etc. with the relevant stakeholder
  • Develop and execute a detail advocacy strategy by engaging RHRN Coalition Members and different stakeholder including young people on youth SRHR and Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)
  • Analyze the policy advocacy gaps/scope and develop yearly advocacy plan to enhance and implement CSE in Bangladesh context
  • Identify key stakeholders, including policymakers, educators, parents, and community leaders and build strong relationships with them to advance advocacy goals
  • Maintain effective partnership with different Ministries and Departments of GOB including MoE, MoWCA, MoHFW, MoSW, NCTB, TTC, DSHE, DSS etc. and with departments of BRAC, especially with Knowledge Management, Central Communication, Advocacy, Technology and Social Innovation
  • Facilitate and guide youth led advocacy initiative at field and national level and support the RHRN Coalition Members on policy advocacy
  • Collaborate with the RHRN Coalition Members, and collect and analyze data from field to measure the effectiveness of advocacy strategies, identify areas for improvement, and inform future initiatives
  • Conduct comprehensive capacity assessments within the project staff and the coalition partner staff
  • Identify capacity gaps and strengths of the full RHRN coalition staff and collaborate with stakeholders to define capacity development needs and priorities
  • Design and deliver tailored training programs, workshops, and learning sessions to address identified capacity gaps
  • Develop training materials, manuals, and resources to support capacity development initiatives.
  • SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements

  • Masters in Social Science, preferably on Governance and Public Policy, or Mass media and Communication, or Journalism, or Development Studies, or Public Health, or Sociology or any other relevant field.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 4 year(s)


Additional Requirements

  • 4 years of working experience in the relevant field will be given preference.
  • First hand experience of managing social media, e-content creation
  • Youth lead advocacy
  • Excellent proficiency of using MS word, Power point, publisher, adobe illustrator and In-design
  • Top-notch proficiency on Bangla and English for verbal and written communication
  • Understanding of partnership management along with advocacy plan
  • Theoretical understanding about advocacy, communication, media and advocacy plan
  • Have the basic understanding on citizen centric report on UPR, CEDAW, ICPD etc.
  • Using digital platform and social media as a communication gateway
  • Having experience in working with young peoples for their sexual and reproductive health and rights related project is a plus
  • Capture lesson learnt and good practice to replicate
  • Branding and visibility strategy of organization
  • Familiarity with research and publication
  • Advocacy on reproductive health and rights related issues in Bangladesh
  • Time management, Leadership, Analytical Ability, Multitasking, Facilitation, Communication, Presentation Skill & Report Writing
  • Adaptability, Teamwork, Relationship Building & Change Management
