    Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples` centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 upazilas under 51 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the following position. It a core position of the organizations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop Comprehensive Audit Plan.
  • Responsible for overall auditing activities of the Managing internal Control operation independently
  • Identifying risks in financial operation & ensure its mitigates
  • Identifying weaknesses in the internal control process and develop strategic planning for its removal
  • Chalking Monthly Statement of Salary /Wages, Services & resigned Benefits, Maternity Benefits Earned leave etc.
  • Checking the procurement and Disbursement procedure
  • Checking daily expenditures, voucher & various type of day to day transaction
  • Pre– check of Bill, Voucher, Party payment etc.
  • Verification of Inventory
  • Verification of Fixed Asset
  • Monitoring changes in systems to ensure timely updating of controls, documentations, and the identification of items affecting the internal audit process;
  • Identify the problems, limitation & loopholes in the report to the management timely
  • Prepare & submit periodic audit report to the management within the timeframe.
  • Check and verify all kinds of the bill, voucher, for ensuring the accuracy of accounting records and procedures
  • Check all kinds of purchase requisition with bills and vouchers
  • Pre-audit and Post-audit of all accounting transactions, purchase requisitions, financial vouchers, bill etc. with ERP & Tally Software entry.
  • Local procurement audit, price verification and justification
  • Market survey & quotation collection to verify procured items.
  • Purchase checking with proper quotation and comparative statement
  • Check and verify the requisition/ budget, comparative statements (CS) of all kind of procurement
  • Conduct market visit to justify the market price of purchased items
  • Check all of receipts & payment, bank reconciliation, income statement etc.
  • Check Cash & Bank book, ledger, different types of registers, etc.
  • Prepare different audit reports with accuracy and match with audit objectives for the use of the top management
  • Ensure the compliance, effectiveness & acceptability of the policies and standards of the organization.
  • Conduct operational audit, investigation, process audit, physical inventory counting, etc.
  • Audit of compliance with Govt law, Tax & VAT regulations, corporate governance guidelines and any other regulations as obligatory for the organization.
  • Any other job assigned by the top Management.

  • Be responsible for smooth functioning and leading of Internal Audit Department of the organization.
  • Evaluating existing internal controls and procedures to ensure organization has adequate controls and systems to safeguard its assets.
  • Obtain, analyze and evaluate accounting documentation, data, flowcharts, etc.
  • Identify gaps and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings.
  • Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards.
  • Conduct compliance audit to ensure all the departments are adhering to stipulated regulatory and reporting guidelines.
  • Ensure day to day payments and financial & management activities of the organization are as per rules and accurately supported by laws.
  • Maintain proper communication with stakeholder and to ensure periodical audit reports in time
  • Prepare and Audit Financial Statements as per requirements of regulators (BAS, IAS etc).
  • Ensure that FS are prepared as per IFRS & BFRS.
  • Ensure the related compliances including Taxes, VAT requirements etc.
  • Carry out other responsibilities assigned by the management.

Educational Requirements

  • Master in Accounting or Finance

Additional Requirements

  • Age at most 35 years
  • Both males and females are allowed to apply
  • Posting place based in Head Office, Thakurgaon, but frequently moving at the field level
  • Experience in the area of Auditing/Finance/Accounts in a reputed NGO/INGO/organization/corporate house get advantage
  • Experience in working with export oriented NGO/INGO concern will be an added advantage
  • Fair knowledge on Costing, Budgeting & CID (Capital Investment Decision)
  • Adequate knowledge on MS Office package specially in MS Excel
  • Excellent Interpersonal & Communication skills
  • Should have clear knowledge on Accounting & Auditing Standards.
  • Leadership, interpersonal skill is needed
  • Able to work independently with ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Should possess good communication and Interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer literacy with good working knowledge.

Job Location



  • Tk. 20000 (Monthly)
  • If more capable candidate then salary will be negotiable.
    Yearly increment as per organizational policy.
