Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of assigned portfolio under the Family Nutrition Group and Market Facilitation and Income Generation Activities interventions.
  • Lead development of work planning that includes both annual detailed implementation plans that are submitted to USAID and internal detailed action plans by union by upazila and by implementing partners
  • Ensure quality, consistency and synchronicity of the program planning and implementation
  • Oversee activities under the FNG and MF/IGA interventions in Bandarban and use data collected during program monitoring or through the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) system to adjust program activities and/or advise on strategy changes required to increase outcomes
  • Oversee the technical staff responsible for implementation and quality control of activities in accordance with project deliverables
  • Verify that intervention staffs (including implementing partners) are properly fulfilling their roles, providing on-going feedback and guidance
  • Ensure that all activities under the two interventions are implemented in accordance with detailed implementation plans, annual workplans and/or other guiding program documents, within the designated timeframe
  • Contribute to the development of evidence-based technical tools and materials, and promote their use
  • Contribute to the establishment of linkages between BANI and Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts (MOCHTA), Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council (CHTRC), Bandarban Hill District Council (BHDC), civil society, traditional institutions, government line departments including Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) and Department of Livestock (DLS), United Nations (UN) agencies, other development counterparts and private sector actors to achieve BANI’s goals and objectives
  • Participate and represent BANI’s livelihoods interventions in meetings, workshops, etc. to share technical information and coordinate activities at all levels
  • Liaise with MEL/admin and finance team for the smooth implementation of project activities
  • Facilitate effective coordination among BANI partners by leading and managing livelihoods coordination meetings and program review workshops, etc.
  • Conduct monitoring of staff through direct supervision of supervisees and spot check monitoring or all activity staffs
  • Lead the development of technical guidelines, case studies, Facebook posts, donor progress reports, and other papers as required
  • Assist in the development and review of all curricula, training manuals, Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) materials, etc. for FNG and MF/IGA activities
  • In collaboration with M&E team and others; ensure robust impact outcome and impact measurement system and collect evidence of change against the pathways described in the intermediate results matrix
  • Coordinate closely with other team members to ensure consistency, cross-learning and cohesion between programs and large initiatives
  • Identify and build strategic partnerships with other USAID development partners in line with strategies and pathways, in collaboration with relevant teams, including partnerships for advocacy with external stakeholders to further BANI’s reach and increase its impacts.

Educational Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Development Studies, Agricultural Economics, Social Sciences or a related field.

  • Ability to write clear reports in English and Bangla.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Interest in working with a diverse team of colleagues and participants.
  • Willingness to travel to remote project sites within upazilas, unions and villages.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Fluency in English and Bangla
  • Fluency in at least one ethnic language spoken within the Bandarban District, (preferred).
